For Readers
The Reading Challenge
A structured year of reading run inside the communities we moderate — monthly prompts, honest discussion, and a steady stream of books worth finishing.
What It Is
The challenge is a simple commitment: read deliberately for a year, with prompts and people to keep you honest.
Each month brings a prompt — a genre, a theme, a format you might not normally pick up. Our moderators run the discussion threads, share recommendations and keep the conversation civil and genuinely interesting. It's free to join, and you set your own target.

Why Join
- —A structured reason to read more widely across genres you'd otherwise skip
- —Monthly prompts and themed discussion threads inside moderated communities
- —Direct exposure to independent and self-published titles you won't see on bestseller shelves
- —A community of readers who actually finish books and talk about them
For Authors
Challenges are one of the few settings where readers actively look for titles outside their usual habits. That is exactly where independent books get a fair hearing.
When a book genuinely fits a monthly prompt, we may feature it — never as a paid advertisement dropped into a thread, but as a title the moderators can stand behind. If it isn't a fit, we don't force it.
